This tool does not get live data from CarletonSee the attached "Course Data Last Updated" timestamp in the response.
Negative free space is (very likely) caused by students overriding to get into an otherwise full course. To check your waitlist position, go to the timetable on Carleton Central, and select 'Detail Schedule' near the bottom.
